Emmanuel College invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Practical Theology and Spiritual Care. This is a two-year, contract-limited appointment at the rank of assistant professor. The successful candidate will possess the ability to teach a variety of theories and practices of spiritual care to students from diverse religious and spiritual traditions. Expertise in one or more of the following teaching areas is desirable: trauma informed approaches, family systems, Indigenous healing modalities, aging/human development, mindfulness-based modalities, and spiritually integrated psychotherapy. Demonstrated excellence in research and teaching is essential. A completed PhD or equivalent in Spiritual or Pastoral Care (or related discipline) prior to the position start date is preferred, but consideration will be given to ABD candidates nearing the completion of their degree.
Emmanuel College is a college of Victoria University in the University of Toronto, a member institution of the Toronto School of Theology and a theological school of the United Church of Canada that provides educational programs (all offered conjointly with the University of Toronto) designed for Christians, Muslims, Buddhists and others preparing for a variety of vocations.
